Step Away From The Instruments
Here are a couple of nifty a capella videos which were pointed out by a couple of tweets each by the likes of @GreatDismal, @paulandstorm, @ccfinlay, and one other person whose name has been lost to the pebbles of time (Sorry, Person). I think maybe Diane will dig these.
In fact, I had the good fortune to attend a concert with Bobby McFerrin while living in Frankfurt. He did the jumping trick with us (the audience), except I don't think it was a pentatonic scale. After he'd established which notes we were to sing, he commenced improvising above our "accompaniment". Which of course, meant that he was bouncing around and singing at the same time. It was inspiring!
And Africa, by Perpetuum Jazzile, gave me goose-bumps! What fun! And there beat-box guy is fabulous!
